Product Details

SANsymphony 10.0 is a 10th generation Software-defined Storage solution for centralized SANs and Cloud storage. In use at over 10,000 customer sites, it maximizes IT infrastructure performance, availability and utilization by virtualizing storage hardware. For those cases where you prefer to keep storage close to your applications, but need to share it across a cluster of servers, DataCore Virtual SAN based on SANsymphony 10.0, offers an ideal hyper-converged solution.

One Storage Services Platform Across your Entire Infrastructure

DataCore™ Customers Report Up To:

  • 75% Reduction in storage costs
  • 10X Performance increase
  • 4X Capacity utilization
  • 100% Reduction in storage-related downtime
  • 90% Decrease in time spent on routine storage tasks

The SANsymphony 10.0 software runs on standard x86 servers, providing one set of common storage services across all storage devices. The combined storage capacity of the different devices is managed as a shared pool to eliminate wasted space. Unlike storage systems communicate seamlessly reducing complexity and preventing downtime. Data is mirrored between nodes leaving no single point of failure. You can seamlessly scale up and scale out choosing the most appropriate hardware manufacturer for each class of storage and servers.

DataCore allows you to create up to 15 tiers of storage and will automatically migrate data to the tier that delivers the right performance at the right time.

Features:

AVAILABILITY

  • Sync Mirroring
Zero downtime, zero touch high availability by continuously mirroring active/active copies between physically-separate locations accessible to local/metro clusters as shared disks
  • Asynchronous Remote Replication
Fast, simple, remote-site disaster recovery and migration; Maintains distant copies up-to-date without impacting local performance
  • Continuous Data Protection & Recovery
Businesses can roll back to a previous point-in-time prior to a disaster, virus attack or other disruptive event without doing an explicit backup
  • Snapshots / Backups
Captures point-in-time images quickly across storage devices; Efficiently clone system images, speed-up recovery and enable off-line analysis

PERFORMANCE

  • High Speed Caching
Accelerates disk I/O and business-critical application performance by empowering existing storage assets
  • Auto-Tiering
Makes intelligent and automatic usage optimizations based on cost and performance across different types of storage
  • Random Write Accelerator
Significantly increases performance for workloads characterized by many random writes, such as frequently updated databases, ERP & OLTP systems
  • Quality of Service (QoS) Controls
Ensures high-priority workloads meet SLAs with predictable I/O performance by regulating resources consumed by lower priority requests

EFFICIENCY

  • Storage Pooling
Consolidates like or unlike disks - enabling cost efficient tiering of resources by price/performance and capacity
  • Thin Provisioning
Increases storage utilization and enables cost savings by allocating just enough space just-in-time
  • Data Migration
Transparently moves and migrates data; Allows non-stop business operations during data center relocations, VM moves, system refreshes
  • Deduplication / Compression
Reduces space needed to store multiple copies of the same data

MANAGEMENT

  • Cloud Integration
Access Cloud storage from different vendors; Extends disk pool to external clouds; Gateway supports auto-tiering to cloud storage
  • Unified Storage (NAS/SAN)
Supports fast, high-availability NAS for file sharing [NFS/SMB (CIFS)]
  • Centralized Management
Greater productivity and administrative efficiency; Infrastructure-wide control and monitoring of pooled storage resources from one console
  • Analysis & Reporting
Offers real-time and historical analysis, ‘heat maps’ to identify I/O bottlenecks; Reporting for capacity planning, tuning and asset tracking
