Product Details

deviceTRUST provides dynamic context awareness.

More than ever, people are connected. Users expect the freedom to access their corporate environment from anywhere on any device. IT, on the other hand, needs to make sure that corporate data is secure while enabling users to stay productive!

deviceTRUST provides the context information you need to apply conditional access to your corporate resources which meets your compliance, security and regulatory requirements with the experience your users expect.

With deviceTRUST you have the information to define context-aware policies based on the device, the location, the network, the security state and the user. This ensures that your corporate data is secure, while your people roam between devices and locations.

Simple
deviceTRUST makes the context of the endpoint and the user available inside the virtual session and on the endpoint. The intelligent technology provides the context in a way that makes it easy consumable. It enables seamless support for internal and external network access, integrates transparently with existing VPN solutions and requires no additional infrastructure making implementation easy.
deviceTRUST ensures that all changes to the endpoint and user context results in an immediate update to the context within the virtual session and on the endpoint.

Dynamic
Dynamic triggers allow the desktop to react to these changes. For maximum flexibility, these triggers can execute any script or process in the context of the logged-on user or with system privileges.

Integrated
The context of the user and endpoint is written to the Microsoft Event Log, allowing easy integration with existing SIEM and reporting solutions.

Benefits

  • Meet Security, Compliance and Configuration requirements by incorporating the endpoint and user context into business policies
  • Actively respond to changes of the context
  • Seamless integration into existing management and reporting solutions
  • No additional infrastructure required - Easy and fast implementation

Integration of deviceTRUST with Citrix Product

deviceTRUST consists of two main components when installing on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, formerly XenDesktop environments, the deviceTRUST Host and the deviceTRUST Client. Both deviceTRUST components can be installed and configured within minutes and can be fully integrated with existing deployment processes and management tools. No additional infrastructure (e.g. a database or a web server) is required for deviceTRUST to be installed in your environment.

Solutions are provided by deviceTRUST for both traditional and modern Operating Systems (OS). On a traditional OS, such as Microsoft Windows, an extensibility framework is available that enables deviceTRUST to send user and device context within the communication channel between the clients and the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops host. deviceTRUST also provides a solution for more modern OS’s, such as Apple iOS, which offer no extensibility framework.

deviceTRUST Host
This component needs to be installed on the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops host that delivers the published applications or desktops to the users.

deviceTRUST Client
This component needs to be installed on the remote device which will be used to connect to the remote host delivering the published applications and desktops. It is not required to have deviceTRUST client installed onto all of your remote devices, but recommended to get the full range of context information about the remote device and its user into the users’ virtual session.

Benefits of integrating deviceTRUST with Citrix product

  • Enable IT administration to control access to corporate resources based on the context of the user and its device
  • Context information are always available, independent on how the user is accessing the Citrix environment
  • Ability to act on endpoint context changes within the Citrix environment easily
  • Extend Citrix ADC, formerly NetScaler Endpoint Scan with over 150 endpoints specific context information
  • Prevent access to corporate resources from unknown devices or unknown locations
  • Additional, granular level of information to enable a secure conditional access
  • Proactively inform user about network performance issues

Features

  • deviceTRUST delivers more than 150 hardware, software, network, security, performance, printer and location context properties into the virtual session.
  • Changes on the context are kept up to date and trigger an immediate defined action.
  • deviceTRUST delivers the context information transparently through any kind of network connection (LAN, VPN or through Citrix ADC, for example).
  • Makes the context easy available through environment variables or registry for all available user environment management (UEM) solution like Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM) or Microsoft Group Policy and traditional scripts.
  • deviceTRUST does not require any additional infrastructure, such as a database or a web server to be installed in the environment. This enables a rapid and effective implementation and results in low implementation and operational costs.
  • Control access (conditional access) to the virtual session depending upon defined properties of the endpoint, independently from how the virtual session is accessed (internal / external network access). If the endpoint does not meet the requirements, the virtual session can be blocked for the user during logon and during the entire session.
  • deviceTRUST makes it possible to provide the GEO location of an endpoint regardless of the network connection used. This allows regulatory requirements with regard to site-based application access to be adhered to.
  • Respond to events within the virtual session with triggers for Logon, Logoff, Disconnect, Reconnect and Property Change. Execute scripts or any process with command line options in the context of the logged-on user or with system privileges.
