The IBM Flex System™ V7000 Storage Node provides virtualized storage within the IBM® PureFlex System environment, and provides shared storage capacity to compute nodes by virtualizing internal disk drives and external fibre channel storage system capacity.

The IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node is integrated into IBM PureFlex System, and provides similar functions to those of the IBM Storwize® V7000, including IBM System Storage® Easy Tier® for automated SSD optimization. Advantages of the IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node include greater integration of server and storage management to automate and streamline provisioning.

The IBM Flex System V7000 nodes in a clustered system operates as a single system and present a single point of control for system management and service. System management and error reporting are provided through an Ethernet interface to one of the nodes in the system, which is called the configuration node.

The IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node is integrated into IBM PureFlex System, and provides similar functions to those of the IBM Storwize® V7000, including IBM System Storage® Easy Tier® for automated SSD optimization.
