Citrix ShareFile® is a business critical app used globally by Citrix customers. The partnership between McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud (CASB) and Citrix showcases the ability for users to continue to use ShareFile® for important cloud storage and collaboration workflows while providing Data Loss Prevention policies, incident management, and User Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) with cross-cloud Anomaly Detection to help thwart common Threat Detection obstacles. McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud helps enable organizations to have a common security plane across all their cloud apps, helping customers gain confidence in their Cloud Journey.
McAfee’s CASB Connect program has integrated with the API framework for Citrix ShareFile®. The integration allows the rich data from the ShareFile® API’s to be ingested by McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud (CASB) to provide common CASB services. In this integration specifically McAfee provides Data Loss Prevention (DLP) polices, Data Loss Prevention Incident Management, User Entity Behavior Analytics, and Anomaly Detection. Customers often choose a CASB framework like McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud to provide a common set of policies across all of their cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS). The integration highlighted in this partnership is considered a SaaS integration, where McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud provides services which gives customers more confidence to consume data in Citrix ShareFile. A common use-case would be one that concerns itself with pushing sensitive data to a cloud repository without visibility of that data movement. The DLP policy within the CASB can be configured to look for certain types of data (such as credit card numbers) then raise a DLP incident to make the user and/or data owner aware. Another common use case is to baseline normal cloud behavior for users (UEBA) then use anomaly detection to find unusual activity. An example for this use-case would be a user logging in from California one minute, then in the next minute logs in from Europe. We know this is impossible, McAfee would track anomalies giving security practicioners precise forensics to investigate.
