Product Details

RF IDeas’ AIR ID products leverage current HID iCLASS and NXP Mifare contactless smart card identification badge investments from existing access control systems to  expand technologies and applications with a single badge solution. AIR ID products meet a variety of needs in multiple situations including logon/authentication to a Citrix workstation.

This ready-to-use, AIR ID Playback Starter Kit provides everything needed to use contactless smart cards with existing systems. The Playback Kit includes an AIR ID Writer USB encoder, AIR ID Playback USB Reader, AIR ID Card Manager software and sample badges. The Playback solution addresses computer access control issues by allowing usage of existing back-end server infrastructures (Active Directory credentials) and building access investments in contactless smart cards without adding software to the client or server. The costs associated with training, pilot tests, software licenses, upgrades and incompatibilities are greatly reduced since no software is deployed. The Playback solution is especially advantageous in Citrix Virtual Apps, formerly XenApp environments where workstations are zero client or thin client and cannot accept drivers.

RF IDeas’ pcProx-Sonar presence detectors solve security risks and privacy concerns with unattended workstations without requiring additional software or user action. This solution is a presence detector, not a badge reader. When a user steps away from the computer, the product automatically locks the computer. It detects a user’s presence so the computer will not lock until the user physically steps away, avoiding awkward time-out settings.

The Sonar easily attaches to the PC via a USB port and is configured as a keyboard. The keyboard allows individual keystrokes and delays to be defined by the user. For example, a Windows® XP equipped system would send a sequence such as Windows “GUI” + “L” to lock the computer when the user walks away. Additional settings include walk-up commands, detection range and detection delay.
